Monitoring With "A" Is For Appetite

Monitoring visits are a required component of participation in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and play an important role in maintaining program accountability.

At "A" Is For Appetite, we view monitoring as a supportive and educational process designed to help providers remain compliant while strengthening program practices.

Our Monitoring Approach

Our monitoring visits are conducted in a professional, respectful, and approachable manner. We strive to create a calm, low-stress experience where providers feel comfortable asking questions and receiving guidance.

During visits, our team explains what is being reviewed and why, answers questions in real time, and provides technical assistance as needed.

What Monitoring Is — and Is Not

Monitoring IS:

  • A review of CACFP requirements

  • An opportunity for education and clarification

  • A process designed to support compliance

Monitoring is NOT:

  • A disciplinary or punitive visit

  • A time for scolding or intimidation

  • A one-size-fits-all evaluation

What Providers Can Expect

  • Clear communication before and during visits

  • Respect for your environment and time

  • Professional, calm interactions

  • Guidance focused on improvement and understanding
